Giometti, Cristiano
BIOGRAPHY
Cristiano Giometti graduated from the University of Pisa (1998) with a thesis on the career of the sculptor Giovanni Battista Guelfi (1688-1736) and the artistic relationships between Rome and London in early Eighteenth-century. He completed a three years postgraduate course (2004) with a dissertation on the French sculptor Michel Maille (1643c.-1703) and received his PhD from the University of Pisa (2004) with a monographic study on the Baroque sculptor Domenico Guidi (1625-1701). He is currently Research Assistant in History of Modern Art at the University of Florence. He published essays and articles on Roman Baroque sculpture and its diffusion in Europe and on the restoration of ancient sculptures in Eighteenth-century.
